Giorno's 5 goals, 3 assists carry Green Terror, 19-7

Defending Centennial Conference scoring champion Meaghan Giorno piled up five goals and three assists, and freshman Tracy Kessler chipped in four goals and two assists, as host Western Maryland rolled to a 19-7 win over Dickinson yesterday in women's lacrosse.

The Green Terror (3-3, 1-2) -- which has beaten the Red Devils (0-2, 0-2) nine straight times -- raced to a 13-3 halftime lead, getting goals from seven players.

Giorno climbed to No. 4 on the all-time Green Terror scoring list with 180 career points (127 goals, 53 assists).

Sophomore Erin Mulhern equaled her career high with three goals, and freshman Tara Webb scored the first three goals of her collegiate career.

Washington College 10, Swarthmore 5: Senior attacker Jordan Hold scored five goals to help the host Shoremen (4-0, 3-0 Centennial Conference) to their first win over the Garnet (4-2, 0-1) since 1993.

Holt has scored five goals in a game three times this season and leads the team with 17.

Villa Julie 7, Marymount 3: Sophomores Laura Higgs and Lynn Mann and freshman Patricia Young scored two goals each as the Mustangs (4-3) turned back the host Saints (4-5).
