Police, FBI investigate bank robbery

March 29, 2000

County police and the FBI are investigating the noontime armed robbery of a busy bank branch near North Arundel Hospital by a pair of bandits Monday.

About sixteen employees and customers were in the Bank of America branch at 350 Hospital Drive when the robbers walked in, one of them carrying a semiautomatic handgun, and demanded: "Everyone onto the floor."

Several tellers were ordered to put cash into a pillowcase before the robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a teal Honda Civic.

Police found the vehicle on Silver Leaf Court in Glen Burnie, where it was seen being parked and abandoned, about 2 p.m. Police said the vehicle had been reported stolen a day earlier in Baltimore County.
