HOWARD CRIME REPORT

March 29, 2000

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

Clarksville

Brighton Dam Road: 12800 block, Clarksville. Electronic equipment was stolen from a home March 21 or March 22.

East Columbia

Stevens Forest Road: 5700 block. Oakland Mills. A man tried to break into a home about 6: 45 a.m. March 17. Police arrested a man with part of a window in his hand as he stood outside of the house. Police said Barry Lee Hungerford, 39, of the 8700 block of Hayshed Lane in Columbia was charged with fourth-degree burglary and trespassing.

Early Red Court: 6300 block, Owen Brown. Someone pried open a bathroom window March 17 and stole a television and jewelry.

Quiet Hours Place: 6500 block, Owen Brown. Someone kicked open the front door of a townhouse and stole liquor, electronic equipment, car keys and watches.

Cradlerock Way: 6600 block, Owen Brown. A 40-year-old man was walking to his car at 9 p.m. March 27 when he was robbed of his wallet by a man armed with a rifle.

Phelps Luck Drive: 5300 block, Long Reach. Someone kicked in the side door of a house between March 24 and 26 and stole a purse, money and jewelry.

West Columbia

Green Mountain Circle: 10600 block, Wilde Lake. Police said they arrested Kory Duanti Roberts, 20, of the 10000 block of Faulkner Ridge Circle in Columbia on March 19. He was charged with attempted first-degree burglary and disorderly conduct. Police said they caught a man trying to smash a window of the house.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Melba Road: 2500 block, Ellicott City. Two motorcycles were stolen from a garage of a home between 9 p.m. March 21 and 3: 45 a.m. March 22.

Karas Walk: 6100 block, Elkridge. An iguana and a television were stolen from a home between March 17 and 22.

Royal Ascot: 10300 block, Ellicott City. A purse was stolen from a home between 8: 30 a.m. and 9: 30 a.m. March 26 when the resident was working in the yard. The purse was found in the back yard. Nothing was taken.

North Laurel

North Laurel and Homestead roads: Three teen-agers were robbed of jewelry and money while they were walking at 11 p.m. March 18.

Grant Avenue: 9200 block. A television, videocassette recorder, quilt and gym bag were stolen from a home March 19.

Whiskey Run Road: 9700 block. Electronic equipment was stolen from a home March 21. Entry was through an unlocked sliding glass door.

Western Howard

Old Annapolis Road: 1500 block, Lisbon. A vacant home was broken into between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. March 15. Tools were taken.
