March 26, 2000

One person was killed and three others were seriously injured yesterday in an accident in northern Montgomery County, about five miles southeast of Damascus.

A Montgomery County police spokeswoman said a car was traveling south in the 6300 block of Damascus Road, just south of Hipsley Mill Road.

The car veered off the road and struck several trees about 5: 10 p.m.

The left rear passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two other passengers were transported by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Identities were being withheld last night, pending notification of relatives, police said.
