Trooper critically hurt in hit-and-run accident

A trooper was injured in a hit-and-run accident involving a driver in a panel truck on the outer loop of the Baltimore Beltway near Security Boulevard about 10: 30 last night, according to Cpl. Adrian Yancey of the Maryland State Police.

The unidentified trooper was rushed to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition, Yancey said.

It was not known whether the trooper was in his car or on foot at the time of the accident. An arrest had been made in the case last night, according to police, who would not provide further details.
