No. 1 Gilman rallies over St. Paul's, 10-8

No. 1 Gilman used the late-game heroics of Andrew Lucas, the defensive leadership of keeper Jay Pfeiffer and a four-goal performance senior midfielder Lance Zimmerman called "my best on the varsity" in its 10-8, come-from-behind Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference win yesterday over visiting St. Paul's.

The No. 4 Crusaders led, 4-0, in the first period, 6-3, at halftime and didn't allow allow the Greyhounds their first lead (9-8) until there was 7: 10 left to play.

Lucas had two assists to go with a game-winning fourth goal that went in off the stick of St. Paul's keeper Paul Spellman (20 saves) for a 9-8 lead.

Zimmerman was part of a strong midfield that included J.D. Nelson and Kevin Boland and overcame the 0-1 Crusaders' premier faceoff man, Jack deVilliers.
