UMBC women top George Mason, 13-11

Ashley Staines scored four goals as UMBC earned its first win of the season over host George Mason, 13-11, in women's college lacrosse yesterday.

The Patriots (3-2) scored once in the first 12 minutes of the second half while the Retrievers (1-3) scored four to take an 11-5 lead.

Men

No. 3 Georgetown 16, Dartmouth 7: Peter Velepec scored four goals to lead the Hoyas (6-0).

Washington College 10, St. Mary's 5: Sophomore attack Chris Johnson scored three goals to power the Shoremen (3-2) by the visiting Seahawks (3-3).
