Find out where you came from at the "Trace Your Family Tree" workshop Saturday at the Maryland Historical Society. Genealogists Pat Anderson and Jerry Hynson will teach participants how to create a family tree from the ground up. Learn basic research methodology and get an overview of resources in the Baltimore-Washington area.

"Trace Your Family Tree" takes place 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Maryland Historical Society, 201 W. Monument St. $45; $35 MHS members, reservations required. Lunch included. Call 410-685-3750, Ext. 321.

'Bug Basics'

Entomologists from the Carrie Murray Outdoor Recreation Campus/Insect Zoo invite you to learn all about the lives of insects as they share the secrets of their trade at the Maryland Science Center's "Bug Basics" program on Saturday. Learn about honey-making, observe a tarantula feeding, find out what a hissing cockroach is and learn to identify the bugs in your own back yard.

"Bug Basics" takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Maryland Science Center, 601 Light St. Call 410-685-5225.
