Tim Goettelmann scored four goals and had six assists, and Michael Sullivan and Mike Battista scored three goals apiece yesterday as host Loyola routed Fairfield, 19-9, to extend its regular-season winning streak to 28.

The Greyhounds (5-0) took a 9-6 lead into halftime, but scored four goals in the first 1: 38 of the third quarter to pull away. Goettelman had two goals and two assists in the quarter as the Greyhounds opened a 15-7 lead.

Gavin Prout and Gunnar Goettelmann each had two goals and an assist for Loyola, while Jason Bukowsky led the Stags (2-3) with two goals and an assist.

Women

Goucher 19, Virginia Wesleyan 6: Junior Stephanie Caplan scored a career-high seven goals, Lauren Manekin had five, and Muffie Bliss and Tina Neuman chipped in three each to lead the visiting Gophers (4-0).

Manekin, a sophomore, now has 100 career points in 21 games at Goucher.

Catholic 10, St. Mary's 7: Kristi Ambrosetti scored four goals and Anna Marie Gateau added two as the Cardinals (2-3, 2-1) overcame a 7-6 halftime deficit to overcome the host Seahawks (3-3, 0-2).
