Design workshops planned at Columbia Oak program

Columbia Oak, a manufacturer and retailer of wood furniture, has moved to 8895 McGraw Road.

The company will celebrate with a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The program will include interior design workshops, home and office organization demonstrations, activities for children, prizes and refreshments.

Columbia Oak also distributes products through its Web site at www.columbiaoak.com.

Senior housing community being built in La Plata

Columbia-based Rainmaker Group, a developer, has announced the beginning of construction of The Maples, a housing community for senior citizens in La Plata.

The Maples, at U.S. 301 and Route 6, will include a 75-unit apartment building and 18 single-story townhouses for senior citizens. The public-private partnership project is the fourth housing project for Rainmaker, which also developed Timbers at Troy Golf Course in Elkridge.

Office, warehouse tenants placed by Manekin

Manekin LLC has announced five new tenants.

Triad Energy Resources has leased 3,091 square feet of office space at 9151 Rumsey Road in Oakland Ridge.

AV Imports has leased 8,640 square feet of office space in Columbia Business Center, 6450 Dobbin Road.

Columbia Bank has leased 11,112 square feet of office space in the Reliance Insurance Building, 5585 Sterrett Place, Columbia.

U-NEEK Expo Inc. leased 53,454 square feet of warehouse space at 7045 Troy Hill Drive in Elkridge.

First Union National Bank has renewed its lease for 43,317 square feet office space, 7175 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia.
