Today's games

March 18, 2000|By Gary Lambrecht

No. 6 Loyola (3-0)

at No. 12 Notre Dame (2-1)

Time: 1 p.m.

Site: Loftus Sports Center, South Bend, Ind.

Radio: WKDB (1570 AM)

Skinny: The Greyhounds could creep higher in the rankings by extending their NCAA-best regular-season winning streak to 27 games.

No. 9 Maryland (4-1) at No. 13 Cornell (3-0)

Time: 2 p.m.

Site: Schoellkopf Field, Ithaca, N.Y.

Skinny: A win moves Terps coach Dick Edell into fourth place on the all-time victory list, but it will not come easily. Cornell is off to its best start in nine years.

No. 10 Navy (3-1) at Rutgers (1-2)

Time: 2 p.m.

Site: Yurcak Field, Piscataway, N.J.

Radio: WNAV (1430 AM)

Skinny: The Midshipmen should have their way against the Scarlet Knights, who suffered a nine-goal rout at the hands of Virginia three days ago. Navy needs the game to keep pace with Georgetown in the ECAC standings.

Wagner (0-2)

at Mount St. Mary's (1-5)

Time: 2 p.m.

Site: MSM Lacrosse Field

Skinny: After going 0-5 against a tough non-league schedule, the Mountaineers have begun to defend their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title. Wagner, in its first year, consists of 20 players, who have been outscored, 42-4.
