The Ugly Duckling'

Pumpkin Theatre presents 10 performances of the classic tale "The Ugly Duckling" beginning this Sunday. The story tells the tale of a duckling who is disappointed with its appearance, but who learns that it's what's on the inside that counts. Lois DeVeas directs a cast of local actors, including Renee Monico, Ronald Burr, Kelli Danaker and Jane Gabor. The actors will be supported by a children's chorus playing woodland creatures.

Show times for "The Ugly Duckling" are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. this Sunday and March 25-26 and April 1-2, St. Timothy's School for Girls, Greenspring Avenue, Stevenson. $8 in advance; $10 at the door. Call 410-828-1814.

Train and collectible toy show

Greenberg's Great Train and Collectible Toy Show chugs into the Timonium Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday. The Washington, Virginia and Maryland Garden Railway Society will present an 8-by-24-foot, G gauge garden layout, and the Baltimore Area American Flyer Club will display a 16-by-24-foot layout. Children can play on a 4-by-8-foot interactive layout. Patrons also can meet American Flyer expert Jim Patterson, attend seminars and shop a marketplace full of model trains, parts, accessories and non-train toys.

Greenberg's Great Train and Collectible Toy Show runs 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Maryland State Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall, 2200 York Road, Timonium. $6; $2 children ages 6-12; Scouts in uniform and children under 6 free. Call 410-795-7447.
