When traveling to and from a medical appointment, what is the price per mile allowed as a deduction? I was under the impression that it was 10 cents per mile. Am I correct?

Yes, you are correct. If you choose not to deduct actual expenses, you may use a standard mileage rate of 10 cents per mile.
