Morgan gives Garlic multi-year deal

March 09, 2000|By Christian Ewell

Morgan State women's interim basketball coach Gerard Garlic agreed to a multi-year contract extension, making him a permanent coach. Terms were undisclosed.

"They say I'm here for as long as I want to be here," Garlic said after his team's 64-40 win over UMES last night.

Garlic took over the Bears' after Darcel Estep left for St. John's in June. MSU (17-11) finished second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, and Garlic was named the league's coach of the year.
