Bob Evans eatery scheduled to open in Columbia 100 park

MDG Companies of Columbia and Naples, Fla., has announced the sale of several sites in its Columbia 100 Office/Residential Park.

A Bob Evans Restaurant will open by April 30. The family-oriented chain restaurant -- the second to open in Howard County -- is under construction, adjacent to the Marriott Residence Inn.

JPB Enterprises and Holland Properties broke ground March 1 for an 85,000-square-foot office building in the park.

MDG Companies plans a 100,000-square-foot office complex for the last undeveloped portion of the park.

Green Angels Landscaping has display at flower show

Columbia-based Green Angels Landscaping Co. has set up a display at the Maryland Home & Flower Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium.

The company has blended tropical and desert flowers, stone elements, antique wrought iron, water and soil to create a "Splendors of Mexico" garden.

Owners Donna and Mario Gorjon collaborated with Gaines Steer, owner of the Last Unicorn in Chapel Hill, N.C. Steer supplied the antique wrought iron featured in the Gorjon's garden.

The garden includes one-of-a-kind sculptures, traditional Mexican artifacts and whimsical art pieces.

The show continues through Sunday.

New business seminar: Maryland Small Business Development Center and Howard County Business Resource Center will sponsor a seminar, "The First Steps to Starting Your Own Business," from 8: 30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. Wednesday at Howard Community College Business Training Center, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia.
