S.C. State beats Morgan, 98-84

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Mike Wiatre led five South Carolina State players in double figures with 21 points and handed out nine assists to lead the Bulldogs to a 98-84 win over Morgan State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game last night.

The Bulldogs (16-13, 13-5) also got 15 points from James Jones, 12 each from Omar Vanderhorst and Luis Radford, and 10 from John Shivers.

Jimmy Fields had a game-high 24 points and five assists to lead Morgan State (4-22, 4-12). Michael Canady added 16 points, all in the second half, for the Bears.
