Police seek gunman in drug-related shooting

February 27, 2000

Howard County police are seeking a gunman in what they say was a drug-related shooting yesterday behind the Trellis Center office building in the 10000 block of Hickory Ridge Road in Columbia.

The man who was shot told police he was going to buy marijuana from two men when one pulled a handgun and demanded all his money. The victim, 24, told police he threw his money at the men and ran. The gunman fired seven shots, hitting him twice in the arm, police said. The man was treated and released from Howard County General Hospital.
