Photo Works opening in Hampden

Photo Works, Baltimore's newest photographic-arts resource center, opens Saturday in the old U.S. Post Office building in Hampden.

The 4,000-square-foot facility includes a fine-arts gallery, fully equipped individual and group darkrooms, a digital media center and lighting studio, all of which are available for rental.

There will be an opening-day reception from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., during which visitors may tour the facility, meet the staff and view the opening exhibit, "Bread and Butter," featuring the work of local photographers Jim Burger, John Dean, Chris Hartlove and Nanine Hartzenbusch.

Photo Works is at 3531 Chestnut Ave. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. For information about exhibits and programs, call 410-889-4600.
