Finksburg citizens group scheduled to meet tomorrow

Finksburg Planning Area Council will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church.

Al Francis, a recruiter and examiner for the 2000 Census, will give a brief presentation.

The council will update residents on issues, give a report on the activities of the board of directors and hear residents' concerns and ideas.

The church is at 2101 Old Westminster Pike.

Ruppersberger to address Carroll County Democrats

Baltimore County Executive C. A. Dutch Ruppersberger will be the keynote speaker at the annual Carroll County Democratic Party's Jefferson Jackson Day dinner March 4 at Wilhelm Ltd. Caterers in Westminster.

The event will feature a silent auction at 6: 30 p.m., raffle and buffet dinner at 7: 30 p.m.

Ruppersberger is serving his second term as Baltimore County executive. He previously served on the County Council, as a partner in a law firm and as Baltimore County state's attorney.

Tickets are $25 and should be purchased by Friday. Limited tickets will be available at the door.

Police

Westminster: A Western Maryland College student told police Friday that someone damaged the rearview mirror and antenna on his car while it was parked on Pennsylvania Avenue. Damage was estimated at $300.

Westminster: A resident of Pine Hill Drive told police Sunday that someone took a cell phone from his unsecured vehicle while it was parked on the parking lot at 19 Bond St. Loss is estimated at $200.
