N. Harford girls to play Fallston

Game, which could impact championship, rescheduled

February 22, 2000|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

North Harford's girls basketball game with Fallston, reported last week as being a casualty of Friday's snow and ice, will be played after all.

Because the two-time defending champion Hawks are in a tight Harford County-title race with C. Milton Wright, the Fallston game could impact the championship.

The Hawks and the Mustangs each have one league loss going into their game at 6: 45 tonight at North Harford. If the Hawks, who beat the Mustangs, 68-61, last week, were to win again tonight, they would take the lead in the county standings at 12-1, leaving the Mustangs at 12-2.

In order that each team plays the same number of games, the Hawks will make up the Fallston game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Fallston. Both teams drew first-round byes for the regional tournament which begins Friday, so neither will exceed the maximum number of games allowed in a week.
