Senior Chris Brune and freshman Nick Brzuchalski each scored twice to lead the Curley Friars to a 6-2 victory over the St. Paul's Crusaders for the MIAA B Conference championship yesterday at Ice World in Abingdon.

Brian Velten and Chris Mizurak each scored a goal and Rich Jondo had three assists for the Friars (8-0).

The first goal for Curley came from Brune, assisted by Jondo, 47 seconds into the game. "Our first goal really set the pace of the game," said Curley coach Joe Latona.

Jonathan Newcomer made 21 saves for the Friars.

Curley overwhelmed the Crusaders with 38 shots, twice scoring on power plays.

"We were mentally and physically prepared for the game and also handled it with class. We played three strong periods to come out on top," said Latona.
