Terps' Dixon named ACC co-Player of Week

Maryland guard Juan Dixon and Clemson guard Will Solomon were named Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball co-Players of the Week yesterday.

Dixon averaged 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals and shot 53.7 percent from the field in two games. The Calvert Hall graduate matched his career-high of 31 points in the Terps' win over Duke on Wednesday.

Solomon averaged 31.0 points and shot 57.8 percent from the field in two games.

The conference named North Carolina's Nikki Teasley (St. John's at Prospect Hall) women's Player of the Week after she averaged 17.7 points and 6.0 assists in three games.

The Northeast Conference named Long Island senior Kellye Townsend (Hammond) women's Player of the Week after she had nine rebounds and career-high 29 points vs. UMBC; she scored her 1,000th career point in that game.
