The Chevrolet and Pontiac teams are asking for a rule change that would give them less down force or the Fords more and provide some relief from the Ford domination. But Jarrett, who not only won yesterday's race but was .325 of a second faster than any Chevrolet and .362 of a second faster than any Pontiac during pole qualifying Saturday, said he doesn't think any adjustments are needed.
"What are they going to do, handicap my pit crew?" Jarrett said after winning the Bud Shootout. "It was the pit stop that won the race. I didn't pass anybody who mattered on the racetrack. But NASCAR is going to do what it's going to do. I was very impressed with the Chevrolets and Bobby Labonte, obviously. The Pontiacs can run good, too."
And the winner is
David Keith in his Sho-Lodge Ford needed 1: 31.49 to win the 37th Annual Pro2Call 200 ARCA race yesterday. It was Keith's first race at the 2.5-mile track. He averaged 130.695 mph to beat Bobby Gerhart by .129 of a second. Shawna Robinson, the only woman racing here this week, finished 13th.
