EXPLORE WHAT Hampstead has to offer during the annual Hampstead Business Expo, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26 at North Carroll High School, off Hampstead-Mexico Road.

The expo is an annual showcase of businesses and services in the Hampstead area. Sponsored by the Hampstead Business Association, it showcases the small businesses integral to the community.

This year, more than 80 Hampstead-area businesses will have exhibits at the expo. It's a chance for neighborly conversation with the people behind the storefronts of Main Street and beyond.

If you're planning a wedding, you'll probably find everything from gowns to flowers to a reception hall with one visit to the expo. If you're looking for a hairdresser, a house or a place to ride horses, it'll probably be there.

Community groups entertain on stage. Nonprofit and service organizations, such as the library and Scouts, exhibit, too.

The combination of businesses and nonprofit groups attracts just about every age group, so attendance typically doubles the town population for the day.

This year, the North Carroll Ensemble will perform, as will the award-winning Rhythm in Shoes dance troupe. Entertainment will include demonstrations by Ultimate Image hair specialists and Shiloh Pottery.

Many exhibitors will offer raffles, door prizes and free goods. Several food vendors will offer carryout menus. Admission and parking will be free.

If you'd like to be a part of the expo, call Russ Vriezen at 410-848-4080.
