Two people wanted on charges of first-degree murder in a Jan. 31 shooting near Laurel were arrested at the Journey's End motel in Ocala, Fla., early yesterday, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Investigators said Kenneth Frizell Diggs Sr., 50, and Terry Mae Palmer, 36, were arrested at the motel without incident about 2 a.m. yesterday by deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Department.

They are wanted in connection with last week's killing of Ahmad Jumal Tutwiler, 27, who was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the face in an apartment in the 200 block of Red Clay Road in Maryland City, east of Laurel.

Anne Arundel detectives said the suspects -- along with Diggs' son and another woman who have yet to be arrested -- were linked to the killing by evidence at the crime scene and interviews with witnesses.

Last night, county police said they were searching for Deanna Michelle Gregory, 28, who was believed to be driving a beige, 1986 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with license plate 07E090. Police believe Gregory was driving toward Laurel, perhaps from Florida.

A fourth suspect has been identified as Kenneth Frizell Diggs Jr., 31, whose whereabouts were unknown last night.

Police had no addresses for the suspects, who are all charged with first-degree murder.
