Library branch to close 1 week for recarpeting

February 06, 2000

The gold is leaving the Linthicum library branch -- the gold carpeting, that is, with a recarpeting project planned this month..

The 11,000-square-foot building will be closed from Feb. 21 through Feb. 26 for replacement of the carpeting, which library manager Adam Mazurek says is about 14 years old.

Mazurek said none of the materials checked out of the Linthicum branch is due during that week, although the after-hours book drop will remain open. Materials can be renewed by calling 410-222-4444, or through the library's Web site at http: //web.aacpl.lib.md.us.

For those who need to use a public library, the closest is the North County branch off Ritchie Highway at Harundale.

Mazurek said the new carpeting will be gray. "We have a lot of 1970s harvest gold in the branch and would like to update our appearance," he said, adding that other decor changes may take place over the next several years.

The Linthicum branch is at 400 Shipley Road. Information: 410- 222-6265..
