Mount Airy man charged with assault

February 06, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A Mount Airy man accused of sexual assault and perverted practice involving another man waived a bail review hearing Friday and was held without bond at the Carroll County Detention Center.

Raymond T. Dorsey, 33, of East Ridgeville Boulevard was arrested on charges of second-, third-and fourth-degree sexual offense, sodomy, perverted practice and second-degree assault, court records show.

State police said a shirtless man, who is not being named to protect his privacy, located a trooper in Mount Airy early Friday. The man was crying, had an eye injury and said he had been raped.

The man, whose age was not available, was taken to Carroll County General Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

He told investigators he got away after being attacked, fleeing without his clothes to another apartment on East Ridgeville Boulevard, where he grabbed a pillow to cover himself. He said a resident there helped retrieve his clothing except for his shirt, while another resident laughed at him.

In charging documents, state police said they obtained a search warrant and went to an apartment, where they found unspecified evidence corroborating the man's account of an assault.
