Madhatters Ball

February 06, 2000|By Sloane Brown

Matters of both head and heart carried the evening at the 14th annual Madhatters Ball. Some precocious partygoers sported headgear gone gonzo, with themes like Martini Millennium and Alice in Wonderland -- in support of the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center.

About 250 festive folks flocked to Ruxton's L'Hirondelle Club. They met, mingled and marveled at how some hobnobbers were using their noodles.

Spotted in the horde: Dennis Connelly, Madhatters executive director; Ellen Hubbard, event chair; Bob Berman, Chip Chew, Carole Samios, Richard Evans and Dort Mollett, event committee members; Bosley Wright, CEO of Milton W. Bosley & Co.; Dr. Susan Townsend, director of the Relationship Enrichment Center in Towson; Joe Cowan, president of Cowan Systems Inc.; Al Grimes, Americom executive vice president; Ed Ellis, president of Ocean Petroleum; and Dan Hirschfeld, CEO of Hallmark Senior Communities.

To cap it off, the party raised about $32,000 for the Ciccarone Center.
