Police and family members have identified a man shot in the head and killed Wednesday night as James Edward Clay III, the step-grandson of state Sen. Joan Carter Conway.
Clay, from the 500 block of Otterbein St., died about 10: 30 p.m. at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in an alley in the rear of the 900 block of Clifford St. in southern Baltimore.
