Frederick man, 30, hospitalized after bar window broken

February 01, 2000

A 30-year-old Frederick man remained hospitalized yesterday with extensive hand injuries after police say he punched -- and shattered -- a window of a Crofton night club during the weekend.

County police said a side window at Coconuts Bar & Grill was broken by a man early Saturday after he had been asked to leave.

Taken to the hand center at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore was Richard Eugenio Antonio Garcia, who was reported to be recovering yesterday after surgery to repair several arteries and nerves in his right hand, wrist and forearm. He was listed in good condition.

The 6-by-3-foot window was replaced at a cost of several hundred dollars, said Coconuts manager M. J. Chaney.
