Spring training ticket guide

Following the Orioles in Florida? Here's information on ordering tickets for home games in Fort Lauderdale, and on the road for games at other ballparks. (Approximate mileage from Fort Lauderdale Stadium to other Florida ballparks, obtained online through MapBlast, is noted in parenthesis.)

Orioles, Fort Lauderdale Stadium: $12 for box seats, $9 reserved grandstand and $6 for general admission outfield seats with seating on a first-come basis.

Other bargains include half-price ($3) general admission at all home games for children ages 14 and under, and "Senior Day" $4 discounts on reserved grandstand seats for those 60 and older at every weekday afternoon game. Senior tickets must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance.

Individual-game tickets can be purchased in person at the box office of the stadium at 5301 N.W. 12th Ave., or from the ticket office there by fax with a handling fee of $4 per order. To obtain a fax order form, call the box office at 800-236-8908 or 954-776-1921; the fax number is 954-776-9116.

Tickets are also available, with "convenience" fees added, through the Miami area TicketMaster number, 561-966-3309, and through the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com.

Florida Marlins, Space Coast Stadium, Viera (163 miles): Reserved seats $12 and $9, and general admission $5. Available by phone through the Orlando area TicketMaster at 407-839-3900, or www.ticketmaster.com.

Los Angeles Dodgers, Holman Stadium, Vero Beach (122 miles): $12 for all seats. Available by calling the box office at 561-569-6858. There is no handling fee; tickets are held for pickup at the will-call window.

Montreal Expos and St. Louis Cardinals, Roger Dean Stadium, Jupiter (56 miles): $17 field box, $15 loge box, $10 grandstand, $6 bleacher. Available through TicketMaster-West Palm Beach at 561-966-3309 and with a $4 flat handling fee by fax or mail order, with Visa, MasterCard or check to Jupiter Stadium Ltd., P.O. Box 8929, Jupiter, Fla. 33468-8929. The order form is available online at www.rogerdeanstadium.com, or call 561-775-1818, Ext. 239.

Detroit Tigers, Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland (240 miles): $8 reserved, $5 general admission, and available by sending a check to Tiger Tickets, P.O. Box 90187, Lakeland, Fla. 33804. Add a $3 handling fee per order. An order form also may be requested in writing, or by calling 941-686-8075. Or try TicketMaster at Tampa, 813-287-8844, or Orlando, 407-839-3900.

Minnesota Twins, Hammond Stadium in the Lee County Sports Complex, Fort Myers (132 miles): $12 and $9, plus a handling fee of $1.75 per ticket and $2 per order by telephone at 800-33-TWINS. Tickets also available by mail, with a flat $4 fee per order, at Minnesota Twins Ticket Office, Attention: Mike Stiles, P.O. Box 30057, Tampa, Fla. 33630-3057.

Texas Rangers, Charlotte County Stadium, Port Charlotte (172 miles): $9 box, $7 grandstand. Available by telephone at 941-625-9500, Ext. 242, with a flat $3 handling fee per order.

New York Mets, Thomas J. White Stadium, Port St. Lucie (94 miles): $13 lower box, $9 upper reserved, and $7.50 "top five" upper rows. Available by calling 561-871-2115, with a handling fee of $1 per order.

Atlanta Braves, Turner Field, Atlanta: $35 dugout, $29 club level, $24 field and terrace level, $17 outfield, $12 upper level, and $5 upper-pavilion. Available through TicketMaster at 800-326-4000, with its service charge, or obtain a Braves mail order form through the Web site at www.atlantabraves. The Braves' handling fee is $6 per order.

In addition, a limited number of "skyline" tickets, priced at an amazing $1, go on sale at the Turner Field box office three hours before game time -- nosebleed notwithstanding, the cheapest seat in the majors.

Cincinnati Reds, one "away" game scheduled, in Chattanooga, Tenn: $17 lower box, $16 upper box, $15 general admission. The likelihood of getting tickets is slim. It will be the first game played in 6,160-seat Bell South Park, new home of the Reds' Double-A Southern League affiliate, the Chattanooga Lookouts.

After season ticket holders and single-seat buyers get first dibs through the box office, telephone orders are expected to begin. Call 423-267-2208. There will be a minimal fee to cover postage -- if you should be so lucky.
