River Hill wins Delmarva Classic

Ryan Green (119), Brandon Lauer (125), Mike Romano (135) and Jason Fawcett (171) won individual titles, and Scott Cannon (Hwt.) was second as River Hill edged Paint Branch of Montgomery County, 202.5-to-201 for the title at the weekend's fifth-annual Delmarva Classic at Wi-Hi at Wicomico High School in Salisbury.

Danny Allen (112) and Michael Dauberman (130) were third for the sixth-ranked Hawks, and Matt Shevland (140), fourth.

Atholton (148 points) was fourth in the 15-team event behind last year's champ, Milford (157 points) of Delaware. The Raiders' Doug Ramsey (103) was second, with third-place finishes from Mike Shoemaker (119) and Bryan Radik (125), the latter losing, 13-5, to Lauer in the semifinals.

Finishing fourth were Atholton's Adam Roth (145), Mark Carbone (171) and Brian Mullinix (189).

Romano edged Milford's Cliff Mumford, 9-7, in overtime of their semifinal bout before edging Prince George's County champ Jonas Bray of Bowie, 2-0, for the title.

Roth split bouts with South Delaware champ, Kyle Shedaker of Seaford, pinning him in 44 seconds, before losing, 2-0, in his bid for third place.
