Action-in-Maturity events: AIM's Book Club meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First English Lutheran Church. AIM and Maryland General Hospital sponsor free vision screenings 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 7 at the Wyman House, 123 W. 29th St. Register by Thursday. Luncheon and talk at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 9 with actress and inspirational speaker Verna Lee Day-Jones. Call to register. Holy Cross Resource Institute: Events are offered for caregivers through February, at 9805 Dameron Drive, Silver Spring. Thursday at 2:30 p.m.: Instructional video on Alzheimer's disease. Free. Thursday at 7:30 p.m.: A program on "Retirement Income Strategies" for caregivers and seniors. Free. Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m.: Class on caring for someone on bed-rest and helping someone in a wheelchair. $20. Liberty Senior Center: Events are offered through February at the center, 3525 Resource Drive, Randallstown. A fully-equipped wood shop is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon, at the center.
