Beatrice Rutman, 84, the mother of Bob Dylan, died Tuesday in St. Paul, Minn., the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported yesterday, citing sources it did not identify.

Leonard Weisgard, 83, illustrator of more than 300 children's books and famed for collaborating with author Margaret Wise Brown, died Jan. 14 at a hospital in Naestved near his southern Denmark home, his son Ethan Weisgard said yesterday.

Friedrich Gulda, 69, widely considered one of Austria's foremost classical and jazz pianists, died in Vienna yesterday of an apparent heart attack, the Austria Press Agency reported.
