Freshman Katryn Costenbader scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half as St. Mary's defeated Marymount, 66-57, last night in a women's Capital Athletic Conference game in Arlington, Va.
The Seahawks (14-2, 5-2) led 30-28 at halftime. Marymount went scoreless for a five-minute stretch early in the second half.
Felicia Harris had a game-high 21 points for St. Mary's.
York 60, Goucher 36: Katie Parise scored a game-high 14 points to lead the host Spartans (12-5, 5-2) to a Capital Athletic Conference win.
The Gophers (3-13, 0-7) were led by Kim Rogers' nine points.
Men
Marymount 96, St. Mary's 79: The host Saints (10-7, 6-1) remained in a first-place tie in the Capital Athletic Conference by avenging their only league loss of the season. Freshman Mike Atkins had 18 points and a career-high 16 rebounds for Marymount.
Harvey Davis' 24 points led the Seahawks (8-8, 3-4).
York 83, Goucher 73: The Spartans (8-9, 2-5) took control with a 14-2 run midway through the second half on the way to a Capital Athletic Conference in York, Pa. The Gophers (8-8, 3-4) twice got as close as three points over the final 4: 57.
Darrian Lee led Goucher with 21 points, and Alex Bernstein (Bel Air) had a game-high 23 for York, which ended a 12-game losing streak to the Gophers.
