Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Shooting: A woman, 33, and a friend were talking to a man in the 700 block of N. Port St. about 12: 25 a.m. yesterday when an argument broke out between the man and the woman. The man pulled a handgun, shot the woman in the left side of the head and fled. She was in stable condition last night at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Western District

Carjacking: A gunman robbed a motorist, 24, of his 1993 Honda Accord while the victim was stopped at a traffic light about 3 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Edmondson Ave. in West Baltimore. The gunman ordered him to drive off and, during the drive, threatened to kill him and struck him several times with the weapon. He ordered the motorist to stop in the 1000 block of W. Lexington St., where he demanded his money. When the victim said he had none, the gunman forced him from the car with license tags GEN 923 and drove away.

Burglary: Police responding to a burglar alarm Tuesday at Mike's Carryout in the 1500 block of W. Baltimore St. spotted three men fleeing the scene. Police said the men had not gotten inside the store, and no arrests had been made.

Stolen car: A blue 1995 Dodge van with license tags FL0473 was stolen Monday in the 800 block of W. Saratoga St.

Southern District

Assault: A man, 30, was walking in the 3700 block of S. Hanover St. about 9 p.m. Tuesday when he was attacked by several men, who struck him with their fists, injuring his head and face. The victim was taken to Harbor Hospital Center and was in fair condition last night. No arrests had been made.

Stolen car: A silver and gray two-door 1988 Cadillac Eldorado with license tags BMC 039 was stolen overnight Tuesday in the 900 block of W. Patapsco Ave.

Northwestern District

Stolen car: A four-door 1988 Toyota with license tags GRZ 737 was stolen Saturday in the 5400 block of Park Heights Ave. The theft was reported yesterday.

Northern District

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man, 21, of his backpack about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of E. 33rd St. The backpack contained several pieces of clothing and a cellular telephone, all valued at more than $200. The gunman and his accomplice drove off in a four-door Jeep Cherokee with unknown license tags.

Central District

Stolen vehicle: A green 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with license tags M79017 and equipped with an anti-theft alarm was stolen in the 2300 block of Eutaw Place between Tuesday night and early yesterday.

Robbery: A man, 22, and a female friend were in the 1400 block of N. Charles St. about 6: 45 a.m. yesterday when they spotted three young males, one with his hands in his pockets as though armed, approaching them. The couple fled, but were caught nearby, where the trio took $70 from the man. The woman was not robbed.

Northeastern District

Stolen car: A 1992 Nissan Maxima with license tags EKK 906 was stolen Saturday or Sunday in the 5500 block of Force Road.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke into a house in the 3800 block of Fernside Road in Randallstown and stole clothing and several pieces of jewelry Sunday or Monday. Entry was gained through an unlocked side door.

Burglary: Power tools valued at more than $1,800 were stolen from a garage in the first block of Randall Ave. overnight Monday.

Burglary: Cash and jewelry, all valued at nearly $250, were stolen from a house in the 100 block of Willow Bend Drive in Owings Mills between Jan. 15 and Saturday. The burglary was reported Tuesday.

White Marsh Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A 1986 Dodge van with license tags M398749 was stolen yesterday in the 8800 block of Philadelphia Road.

Theft from vehicle: Someone entered a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck parked in the 9700 block of Silver Farm Road on Tuesday and stole stereo equipment valued at more than $200.

Burglary: A chain saw valued at nearly $120 was stolen yesterday from an outdoor display area at the Lowe's store in the 5300 block of Campbell Blvd.
