1998 Napa Ridge Coastal Vines Chardonnay, North Coast...

WINE OF THE WEEK

January 26, 2000|By Michael Dresser

1998 Napa Ridge Coastal Vines Chardonnay, North Coast ($10).

This soft, lush, buttery chardonnay is well-crafted for wine drinkers with California-style palates. It offers generous melon, citrus and tropical fruit flavors, with a healthy dose of oak. With all of that, there's good balance and acidity. It's a versatile wine that can be served with ham, seafood, poultry and pasta with cream sauce. Napa Ridge, recently sold off by Beringer, continues its track record of providing fine value and consistent quality.
