Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southwestern District

Shooting: An unidentified man shot a male, 17, in the groin during an attempted robbery about 9: 15 p.m. Saturday outside a house in the 3300 block of Elgin Ave. The victim was in stable condition yesterday at Sinai Hospital.

Southeastern District

Shootings: Two men were being sought in the shooting of three males, including a juvenile, outside the Blue Night Inn in the 2400 block of E. Fayette St. about 2 a.m. Sunday. The victims were treated at area hospitals, where two were in critical condition. Information about the condition of the third victim was not available.

Northeastern District

Carjacking: A male motorist, 23, had stopped at Belair Road and Erdman Avenue about 10 a.m. yesterday when a man approached and asked for a light. When the motorist rolled down the window of his Nissan, the man pulled out a handgun, and he and an accomplice got into the car and ordered the victim to drive. On Lake Avenue in North Baltimore, the robbers forced the driver from his car and sped off. The car was found abandoned.

Eastern District

Robbery: Three men were in the 2400 block of E. Lanvale St. about 8: 30 p.m. Saturday when two other men, one with a 9 mm handgun and the other a Tec-9 machine pistol, threatened to "spray the street" with bullets and demanded money. The robbers took $850 and a cellular telephone from the victims and drove off in a Chevrolet occupied by a woman.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Shooting: A man was shot in the hand about 7 a.m. yesterday as he tried to prevent his girlfriend from shooting herself in their home in the first block of Trout Brook Circle in Reisterstown. Police said the woman suffered a neck wound when she was struck by the bullet that wounded the man or by a second bullet. The woman was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where information about her condition was not available. The man was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Wilkens Precinct

Robberies: A man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed High's dairy store in the 100 block of Maiden Choice Lane in Arbutus of an undisclosed sum of money about 10: 35 a.m. Sunday. About 2 p.m. Sunday, a man fitting the description of the robber struck the High's store in the first block of Frederick Road in Catonsville and escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.

Arrest: A man charged in a warrant with this year's first homicide was arrested early Sunday in the 900 block of N. Franklintown Road. Ransom Williams, 23, of the 800 block of Kevin Road in Southwest Baltimore was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of Rodney Johnson, 18, of the 1200 block of N. Augusta Ave. The incident occurred about 7 p.m. New Year's Day outside Your Food Market in the 500 block of Loudon Ave. Mark Griffin, also of the 1200 block of N. Augusta, was wounded in the incident. Williams also is charged with attempted murder in Griffin's wounding and is being held without bail at the Central Booking and Intake Center.
