Farmers & Merchants Bank announces promotions

Farmers & Merchants Bank has announced a number of promotions.

They are: Christopher T. Oswald, to senior vice president; Sharon L. Alberts, to vice president corporate secretary; Cheryl Y. Lewis, to vice president lending; Julie A. Harris-Hare, to vice president data processing; Yvonne G. Zemiski and Linda S. Gregg, to assistant vice president branch manager; Andrea J. Reed, to assistant vice president branch sales manager; Debora A. Smith, to assistant vice president loan officer; and Lynnette Kitzmiller, to assistant vice president administration.

Board approves 2 transfers and a new liquor license

The Board of License Commissioners for Carroll County has approved two liquor license transfers and a new liquor license.

David L. Naylor Sr. requested a Class B Beer, Wine and Liquor license for Hillstreet Pub and Restaurant at 1301 Main St., Hampstead.

Resham Athwal will be a 50 percent owner and will manage the kitchen.

Benny R. Kirkner and Albert L. Kirkner requested a transfer of their Class A Beer, Wine and Liquor license from 1438 Liberty Road to the Eldersburg Plaza shopping center to enlarge their business, the Spirit Shop.

The board gave the Kirkners six months to complete renovations to their store and show proof of all necessary permits and inspections.

John S. Barnes and Gloria F. Barnes requested a transfer of their Class A Beer, Wine and Liquor license from 16 Carroll Plaza Shopping Center to 19-20 Carroll Plaza.

They plan to enlarge their business, House of Liquors. The board approved the request pending receipt of a properly signed lease and floor plan, plus all necessary permits and inspections.
