Mets: Signed free-agent OF Curtis Pride (Silver Spring) to minor-league contract; invited him to spring training.

Bulls: Signed G Chris Carr to second 10-day contract. Released G Dedric Willoughby.

NAIA: Barred Wilberforce men's basketball team from NAIA postseason this season and next for using academically ineligible players.

Michigan State: Women's basketball coach Karen Langeland (369-282 in 24 seasons) will retire after season.

Football

AFC: Named Seahawks LT Walter Jones to replace Jaguars T Tony Boselli (torn knee ligament) on Pro Bowl roster.
