Equal opportunity awards to be presented Feb. 24

The 2000 Equal Business Opportunity Award Program, sponsored by the Howard County Economic Development Authority and its partners, will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory's Kossiakoff Center in Laurel.

The program recognizes achievements and leadership by members of the county's diverse business community.

Manekin completes deal to sell center land

Manekin LLC has completed a transaction to sell 33.62 acres in Troy Hill Commerce Center at Interstate 95 and Route 100 in Elkridge.

The land is zoned for industrial use.

Manekin's Glen Charlow, senior sales and leasing associate, and Will McCullough, sales and leasing associate, represented the seller, AEW Real Estate Advisors IWC. Manekin also represented the buyer, Prologis Development Services Inc.

Troy Hill includes four warehouse and distribution buildings, a total of 853,200 square feet.


Ryan S. Houck, formerly marketing/ communications manager for Ryland Group Inc. in Columbia, has been named assistant vice president of marketing for the Columbia Bank. He will be responsible for all communications functions at the bank, including marketing, advertising, customer relations, internal communications and the development and maintenance of an interactive Web site for the bank's 15 locations in Baltimore City, and Baltimore and Howard counties.
