Delaware powers Hodgson Vo-Tech, William Penn and St. Mark's were 1-2-3 heading into today's quarterfinal round of the fifth annual, 22-team Hammond Invitational Tournament.

South Carroll (59.5, fifth) trailed Kent County (61.50) after the Cavaliers advanced Kellen Weber (119), Dan Patterson (130), Josh Wampler (135), Bryan Hamper (140), Kevin Clark (145) and Chris Currence (171) into today's scheduled 9 a.m. rounds.

Defending champ Joey Sargent (160) of Mount St. Joseph (sixth) improved to 22-1 with his 15th pin, and Mike Faust (heavyweight) of Gilman (seventh) also advanced.

For defending state champ Franklin (eighth), undefeated state champ Matt Schuster (119) will meet Atholton's Mike Shoemaker, who is 17-2, and teammate Stan Wagner (125) takes on Atholton's Bryan Radik.

The 135-pound quarterfinals may prove the most intriguing, with Einstein's two-time defending champ, Tim Lowe, facing Wampler, Archbishop Curley's state runner-up, Antwaun Lide, meeting Kent's state runner-up, Mikey Blake, state champ Nick Delonga of DeMatha facing Gilman's Tyrone Bowie, and Hammond's Rob Osborn meeting William Penn's state champ, Joe Ferrera.
