Tom Scott at Halcyon

January 13, 2000|By Glenn McNatt

Tom Scott arrived in Baltimore in 1972 to serve as dean of graduate studies at the Maryland Institute, College of Art and has been aggressively deconstructing the tenets of painting ever since.

Recently, Scott has been working with spray paint, bringing to the medium the playful, outlaw sensibility of a graffiti artist. A show of his work opens Tuesday at the Halcyon Gallery in Fells Point and runs through Feb. 27.

The Halcyon Gallery is located above Margaret's Cafe at 909 Fell St. Hours are 11: 30 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays, 5: 30 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays. For more information, call 410-276-1651.
