Four students arrested on drug charges at party

Four Western Maryland College students were released on their own recognizance Sunday after being arrested on drug charges during a police investigation of a loud party, court records show.

Charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were: William C. Smith, 21, of Baltimore; Robert C. Schonder, 18, of Round Hill, Va.; Jeremy C. Kober, 23, of Baltimore; and Vincent T. Hackler, 20, of Millers, court records show.

According to charging documents, officers went to a residence in the first block of Pennsylvania Ave. at 2: 30 a.m. and discovered about 20 people at a party. As officers entered and asked for the owner, one man was seen with a pipe used to smoke marijuana. He was arrested, police said.

Another man showed officers a bag of suspected marijuana and was arrested, as were two men identified as tenants.

Smith and Hackler told police they were renting the residence, court records show.

Westminster: A resident of Westcliff Place told police Saturday that someone damaged a house under construction on Sumner Court. Windows were broken. Damage was estimated at $175.

Westminster: A resident of Sumner Court told police Saturday that someone damaged several yard ornaments. Damage was estimated at $2,060.
