Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northwestern District

Robbery try/shooting: A man, 19, was standing in front of his home in the 3500 block of Manchester Ave. about 4 p.m. Wednesday when another man approached him, pulled a handgun and demanded his money. The victim resisted and the gunman shot him in the leg and fled empty-handed. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center and released.

Southern District

Robbery: A man armed with a handgun and a knife robbed Just-A-Buck bargain store in the 1200 block of W. Pratt St. of more than $300 about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Burglary: A mountain bicycle, cellular phone, prescription eyeglasses and other property, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 600 block of Harvey St.

Theft: A gas-operated cooking grill valued at more than $300 was stolen Wednesday from the back yard of a house in the 4000 block of Third St. in Brooklyn.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A man, 24, was in the first block of S. Woodington Road about 9: 30 p.m. Tuesday when two men, one with an unknown weapon, robbed him of $25 and a compact disc player, all valued at nearly $150.

Burglary: Several pieces of gold jewelry, valued at nearly $200, and $200 in cash were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2300 block of Washington Blvd.

Northern District

Theft from vehicle: Two microwave ovens valued at nearly $140 were stolen Wednesday from a truck parked in the 700 block of Glenwood Ave.

Burglary: Two gold rings, $40 in coins and three videocassettes, all valued at nearly $400, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 3900 block of Edgehill Ave.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: A red 1990 80cc Kawasaki motorcycle valued at nearly $1,800 was stolen Tuesday from a shed in the 100 block of Towns Court.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: When a woman, 40, answered the doorbell at her home in the 8300 block of Loch Raven Blvd. about 1: 30 p.m. Wednesday, four men, one armed with a knife, forced their way in and robbed her of an undisclosed sum of Chinese and U.S. currency and several U.S. Saving Bonds of undisclosed value. The men forced her into the basement and tied her hands. After freeing herself, the woman called police. She was not injured and no arrests had been made.

Cockeysville Precinct

Theft: A mountain bicycle valued at $300 was stolen Wednesday from a garage in the 1100 block of Walnutwood Road.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the first block of Deaville Court between Dec. 15 and Tuesday and stole jewelry of unknown value.
