The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Columbia Crossing: 6200 block, Owen Brown. Someone broke the front office deadbolt at the Amoco Carwash Jan. 2 and destroyed the computer that operates the carwash.

Blacksmith Drive: 5000 block, Harper's Choice. A videocassette recorder, jewelry boxes and keys were taken from a home Thursday.

White Mane: 5400 block, Long Reach. A shotgun, ammunition, golf clubs, a compact disc player, compact discs, and ivory and stone carvings were stolen by a someone who kicked in the front door Thursday or Friday.

West Columbia

Cedar Lane: 5600 block, Harpers Choice. A 19-year-old man was robbed by a gunman as he walked on Cedar Lane Saturday.

Eliots Oak Road: 5400 block, Harper's Choice. A 27-year-old Baltimore man was robbed as he walked along a bike path Thursday.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Town and Country Blvd.: 8600 block, Ellicott City. A guitar and coffee tins containing money were stolen Dec. 24.

Washington Blvd.: 7300 block, Elkridge. Two teen-agers exposed themselves in the Exxon gas station parking lot Dec. 27. Patrol officers arrested them a short time later on Washington Boulevard.

Mount Albert Road: 12100 block, Ellicott City. A television, video cassette recorder and home theater system were stolen from a home between Dec. 22 and Thursday.

Winters Lane: 6200 block, Elkridge. A checkbook was stolen from a home Thursday.

Jessup

Crestmont Drive: 7300 block. Six people were arrested, and a quarter-pound of marijuana was seized New Year's Day after police received a tip about a party at the Susse Chalet Inn. Detectives searched three fourth-floor rooms, smelled burning marijuana and observed many people going in and out of the rooms. Irving Alexander Conwell, 22, of the 4600 block of Warren Tree Road in Arbutus, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, second-degree assault and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were Shayla Simon Watson, 19, of the 8800 block of Woodgate Court in Baltimore; Zena Michelle Elizalde, 18, of the 6000 block of Chesworth Road in Catonsville; Tosh Shea King, 18, of the 6500 block of Quiet Hours, Columbia; Davon Lamont Smith, 18, of the 5300 block of Eliots Oak Road in Columbia; and a 17-year-old from Baltimore.

Firewood Court: 8300 block. A plastic storage bin outside a home was broken into. Nothing was taken. An attempt had been made to pry open a bedroom window.

Savage

Autumn Way: 8300 block, Savage. A Sony PlayStation video game system and a laptop computer were stolen from an apartment Thursday.

Western Howard

Lime Kiln Road: 11900 block, Highland. Someone kicked in a kitchen door and stole jewelry and a safe containing cash Dec. 29.

Kennard Drive: 13800 block, Glenelg. A house under construction was broken into during the night of Dec. 29. Floor tiles, a furnace and plumbing fixtures that had not been installed were taken.

Clarksville Pike: 12200 block, Clarksville. An armed man robbed the High's convenience store at 6 a.m. Sunday. Police said the gunman walked into the store with a shotgun and demanded money. He tied up the clerk with an electrical cord and stole money from the safe and cash register.
