A 16-year-old male was fatally shot early yesterday in West Baltimore, the second person killed in Baltimore this year, police said. Both victims were teen-age boys.

Lamont Jones was shot several times by an unknown assailant about 12: 30 a.m. yesterday in the 500 block of Baker St., said Agent Angelique Cook-Hayes, a police spokeswoman.

Jones, who lived in the 800 block of N. Mount St., was pronounced dead at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Cook-Hayes said.

In an incident Saturday, Rodney Johnson, 18, of the 1200 block of N. Augusta Ave. was fatally shot about 7 p.m. in the 500 block of Loudon Ave., said Cook-Hayes.

Marnick Griffin, 23, also of the 1200 block of N. Augusta, was shot in the incident, Cook-Hayes said. He was released yesterday from St. Agnes HealthCare, said a spokeswoman there.

Police say they knew of no motive and had no suspects in either incident.
