Mandelberg is controller for Advance Business
Advance Business Systems appointed Martin B. Mandelberg as controller for the Cockeysville-based office equipment provider.
An Owings Mills resident, the University of Baltimore graduate is a certified public accountant and had been executive director of the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation for nearly four years. He was finance director of the Associated Jewish Community Federation for 18 years.
Classic Catering adds account executive Bernstein
The Classic Catering People added Amy Bernstein to the staff of the Owings Mills-based caterer as an account executive with its Classic To Go unit.
She will also teach classes in cooking and introduce new recipes and menu items. A Goucher College and International Culinary College graduate, she is a founder and partner of In Great Taste, a catering service and retail store.
Paulsen joins Weinberg as assistant account chief
Weinberg Harris & Associates hired Rebecca E. Paulsen as assistant account executive at the the Pikesville public relations and marketing firm. Formerly with Baltimore Business Journal, the Towson resident is a master's candidate at the University of Baltimore and is active with the Health Care for the Homeless program.

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston elected Mark C. Kopec and Catherine W. Steiner partners of the Baltimore-based law firm.
Kopec, a business and commercial law litigator, is a graduate of the University of Baltimore Law School and member of the American, Maryland and Washington bar associations. He is active with the College Bound Foundation and is assistant counsel for the Baltimore City Board of Ethics and a lawyer for the House of Ruth. Steiner, a law graduate of the College of William and Mary, is a medical malpractice defense attorney. A member of the Maryland and American bar associations, she is also a member of the Maryland Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
Barbieri, Mischke, Govan join Kann & Associates
Kann & Associates added interior designers Jeanine M. Barbieri and Alice Mischke and architectural designer Nevin E. Govan to its professional staff.
Barbieri, a graduate of the University of North Carolina, is assigned to the firm's historic preservation studio. Mischke is a graduate of Meredith College in North Carolina. Govan, who specializes in the design of retail, food store and multi-use facilities, operated his own consulting firm before joining the Baltimore-based firm of architects.
