`Dreamin' wins Dancer Stakes

Winmore Stable's Montana Dreamin' won the 34th running of the $75,000 Native Dancer Stakes yesterday at Laurel Park.

Montana Dreamin', ridden by Joseph Rocco, led from the start and held off S W Clarence by a half-length. Montana Dreamin' had finished second to S W Clarence in last month's Hail Emperor Stakes at Laurel.

A 5-year-old son of Dixie Brass, Montana Dreamin' paid $4.80 to win and headed a 1-2 exacta of $6.40.

Copy Cat finished third, followed by Big Rut and Fireside Brass.

With the victory, trainer Tim Ritchey had his second stakes winner of the holiday weekend. Thunder Flash won the Broad Brush Stakes on Friday.
