Brighton Dam Road span reopens after reconstruction

January 02, 2000

After a year's closure for reconstruction, Brighton Dam Road bridge, at the southern end of the Triadelphia Reservoir, is open, according to James M. Irvin, Howard County's public works director.

The $2.5 million project to rebuild the bridge superstructure over the reservoir dam was a joint undertaking of Howard and Montgomery counties and the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

The road was closed Oct. 12, 1998. Although it reopened Wednesday, the project has a few weeks of finishing work to be done, Irvin said.
